Let’s Talk About It

Way back, when I thought of the concept of a personal blog, I had some crazy notions.  I belabored over things like what should I write about? Should I list my REAL name?  Am I really going to be open enough to share the personal details of my life?  And If I am, how much editing am I going to do?  Oh, let me tell you, the struggle was real.  However, what I absolutely knew was…

  • I wanted to write
  • I wanted the creative outlet
  • I wanted to share my stories and perspective to hopefully encourage someone else.  Often times we struggle in life and believe that we’re alone in our struggles – and maybe even believing that we can’t survive the present moment.  We can, We do, and We move on conquer the next level of the game.

By nature, I’m a very private person.  I in general may share my [filtered] thoughts about any given topic, but exposing myself personally and completely I generally don’t do.  I also considered wanting and needing boundaries. I mean, do I want my co-workers to know these private things about me if they stumbled across this blog?  How about potential employers?  You know that’s the era we’re living in.

Even with all of that said, what means more to me at this stage in life is to grow… grow beyond my fears, beyond my comfort zone.  I turned 40 at the end of last year, and it caused me to put much under the microscope.  The crowning question for me for a while now has been “What next?”  But that’s a posting for a different day.  With resurrecting this blog, I have at least started to answer that question for myself.  What’s next is to continue living, to explore, to be open, leverage my inner happiness, and to be at peace.

How about you? Did entering the next decade of your life spark some thought provoking change?  Or did you suddenly wake up one morning trying to find yourself and realized you had a story you wanted to share?  Talk to me. 🙂
